Yukiko Umezawa was born in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan. She is known for her expertise in Raku ware. She studied under the renowned Raku artist Eiji Munafuku. Since 2013, she has gained recognition and won numerous ceramic art awards for her unique "Translucent Raku" works. Her pieces are delicate and gentle, revealing hidden colors and textures when illuminated.
 

  • Born in 1972 in Fuji City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

  • Worked as an assistant to ceramic artist Eiji Munafuku from 2009 to 2013 before establishing her own career.

  • Awarded at the Kikuchi Biennale in 2013.

  • Received recognition at the Hagi Grand Prize Exhibition in 2014.

  • Honored at the Tokai Traditional Crafts Exhibition in 2016.
