ARTISTS / 板屋成美 Itaya Narumi
Natumi Itaya (b.1991) is an artist known for her sculpting techniques and intricate patterns inspired by plants and the natural world. She graduated from Kanazawa College of Art in 2013, where she honed her skills and developed her artistic vision.Through her mastery of sculpting techniques, she brings to life patterns and forms that reflect the beauty of nature.
After completing her studies at the Tajimi City Pottery Design Institute in 2015, Itaya continued to refine her artistic practice. She is currently an associate member of the Japan Kôgei Association and works in Kanazawa City, Ishikawa.
In 2019, Itaya received recognition for her outstanding talent and craftsmanship. She was awarded the Tokyo Tableware Festival Jury Prize, acknowledging her exceptional artistic skills. Additionally, she won the Azumino Soba Inoguchi Art Open Call Exhibition Grand Prize, further highlighting her artistic achievements.
Notably, in 2023, Itaya was awarded the Grand Prize (Mayor's Top Prize) at the 79th Kanazawa Craft Exhibition, solidifying her reputation as an accomplished artist.
Graduated from Kanazawa College of Art and Crafts in 2013.
