Time flies, and we celebrate the sixth anniversary of TOUCH. Six years ago, we started with tea sets and successfully held 11 tea set-related exhibitions and dozens of tea art workshops. We have since expanded to other ceramics and contemporary art aspects, allowing the public to feel the charm of contemporary ceramics. Various experiences provided an in-depth understanding of the history, culture and aesthetics of ceramics. During this journey, we are also honoured to have formed a sincere friendship and accumulated growth, just like the greenness, richness, and mellow sweetness given by tea over time.
Good tea sets make good tea, while perfect tea sets connect people and foster relationships. On this unique commemorative occasion of our sixth anniversary, we invited nine Japanese and Taiwanese masters to present the most anticipated tea sets of the year, leading us to embrace harmony and celebrate the connections made in the past 6 years. We look forward to more wonderful encounters ahead.
The nine ceramic and metalworking artists participating in the exhibition include: Takaya Fukuoka, who infuses Japanese architectural aesthetics into tea sets; Kazuhiro Katase, who delivers a lively and simple emotion in pots; Kazunori Ohnaka, who advocates the beauty of impermanence; Sayaka Shingu who creates with reverence for nature; Wu Wei-Cheng, known as the clay architect; Chang Xi-Yuen, who exudes the warmth of wood kilns and clay; Liu Jung-Hui, who combines zen landscapes and graceful demeanour; Lin Jhih-Bing, who records natural memories; Zhang Sheng-Xiong, who displays the texture of all things with hand forging. During the exhibition, we will also hold tea gatherings and self-service tea-making experiences, allowing everyone to enjoy delightful moments with master tea sets. We sincerely invite everyone to come and collect the unique tea sets. Let bondings weave over tea.
